Check out Jing if your interested in a free solution to capturing and recording your computer screen.  Jing let's you record up to 5 minutes of onscreen video, which is perfect to short lectures or tutorials.  I use the big brother version of Jing, which is called Camtasia.  Camtasia is not free.  Most of my video tutorials are under five minutes so Jing is a great option.
